Joanne Rowling was born on 31st July 1965 at Yate General Hospital near Bristol, and grew up in Gloucestershire in England and in Chepstow, Gwent, in south-east Wales.

The young Jo grew up surrounded by books. “I lived for books,’’ she has said. “I was your basic common-or-garden bookworm, complete with freckles and National Health spectacles.”

Jo studied at Exeter University. Her knowledge of Classics would one day come in handy for creating the spells in the Harry Potter series, some of which are based on Latin.

Jo conceived the idea of Harry Potter in 1990 while sitting on a delayed train from Manchester to London King’s Cross. Over the next five years, she began to map out all seven books of the series. She wrote mostly in longhand and gradually built up a mass of notes.

Having completed the full manuscript, she sent the first three chapters to a number of literary agents, one of whom wrote back asking to see the rest of it.

The book was first published by Bloomsbury Children’s Books in June 1997, under the name J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, in 1998. Six further titles followed in the Harry Potter series, each achieving record-breaking success.

The rest is history.

J.K. Rowling has received many honours and awards, including:

Companion of Honour, for services to literature and philanthropy, 2017
PEN America Literary Service Award, 2016
Freedom of the City of London, 2012
Hans Christian Andersen Award, Denmark, 2010

In numerology terms…

JK Rowlings life path number is a 5. The Adventurer. 5’s have amazing imagination, need freedom and love adventure. They have strong personalities and for them life is more about the journey than the destination than any other number.

Her approach is 4 – which is why anything she does has structure and system and why the books in their adventure and imagination link and inter-relate to all the others in the series. As 4 is about order.

Her ultimate goal is the 11 – The Spiritual Teacher – I was expecting to see some master energy in her 4 roads. With this present she has the ability to go beyond to connect on a deeper level and share that energy with others. Hence me listing some of the awards she has achieved here.

Her link number is 7 – The Seeker. This is the glue that holds all the other numbers together. 7 is to learn science and mysticism – it devours knowledge and information and passes that on to others. On a large scale!

Sums her up very well I think!

Jo.
