Angel Strawbridge is a businesswoman and author of the Vintage Tea Party book series. She appeared on Dragon’s Den in 2010 and was offered £100,000 investment from Deborah Meaden and Theo Paphitis for developing her website and business, The Vintage Patisseri, she opened her first Vintage Patisserie in Hackney, East London.

Angel’s big personality also secured her an agent who introduced her to TV presenter and author, Dick Strawbridge. It was love at first sight for Angel and Dick and the couple have two children, Arthur (2013) and Dorothy (2014).

In January 2015 Angel and Dick left the UK in search of a better life in France. They purchased a 19th-century chateau – Chateau-de-la-Motte Husson – in the Pays de la Loire, and began restoring the property.

The property has 45 rooms, 78 windows, 12 acres and one moat. They paid £280,000 for the chateau, but it came with no electricity, heating or water – and a sanitation system that was emptied into the moat.

Angel said of the project: “We just jumped in and got on with it. Dick and I are firm believers in the harder you work, the luckier you get.

Utilising their hosting skills and passion for good food and entertaining, the chateau is available to hire for elegant vintage weddings, retreats and other special events. They were married at the chateau in November 2015, and their adventures have been made into a Channel 4 documentary, Escape to the Chateau.

In numeric terms she is a 9 – The Humanitarian. As well as being loving and giving – 9’s are very creative with artistic ability and great imaginations. The have a flamboyant streak and can be eccentric – we see this with Angel in a beautiful way. 9’s are very romantic and idealistic and need an outlet for their expression. A 45 room Chateaux is definitely an outlet. An inspiring 9!
